In addition to the calendar variations, there is also a list of sixty official non-repeating terms and two unofficial sets, which appear to be more decorative than functional.

The Chinese calendar is an important aspect of Chinese culture, and despite its age, it is still widely used. Its purpose as an astrological, agricultural, and cultural tool remains in tact, and although it has evolved over the years, its basic principles remain constant.
